Liberty Walk Transforms an Unlikely Classic: The LB-Works Camaro

I still can’t quite wrap my head around it. Walking through the cavernous halls of SEMA 2026 in Las Vegas, I turned a corner and there it was – a third-generation Chevy Camaro draped in a full Liberty Walk widebody kit. I mean, seriously, a boxy, Reagan‑era F-body wearing a Japanese street‑style suit? Who would’ve thought this day would come?

The car sat there with an almost defiant stance, its pumped‑up fenders bulging like muscles under a tailored jacket. Matte‑black wheels tucked deep into those swollen arches, a trunk‑lid spoiler that looked part race‑car, part street art, and a riot of stickers running along the sill. Liberty Walk, the company famous for giving exotic supercars outrageous body makeovers, decided to skip the predictable Ferrari or Lamborghini and instead pick one of the most derided Camaros ever made. And you know what? It works. It absolutely works.

Let’s be real – the 1982 to 1992 Camaro wasn’t exactly Detroit’s finest hour. The factory styling was awkward, the factory V8 hardly stirred the soul, and the whole thing often looked like a melted doorstop. Yet somehow, Liberty Walk’s artisans have massaged this lump of American iron into something genuinely tasteful. The fender extensions flow seamlessly into the rocker panels, then sweep back to meet the rear bumper, which now houses a proper diffuser. The new front bumper sharpens the face without erasing its 1980s origins. It’s as if the Camaro has been to Tokyo, found a sense of style, and come home to show off.
