Black Swan Build: Best Light Cones, Relics & Teams

To get the most out of Black Swan, you need to build her around her signature damage-over-time mechanic: Arcana. This five-star wind Nihility character stacks Arcana on enemies, dealing wind DoT each turn. Crucially, she gains extra stacks when hitting enemies already afflicted with any DoT—wind shear, bleed, burn, or shock—and her talent lets her ignore 20% of DoT defense. The more diverse your team’s DoT types, the more Arcana she stacks and the harder she hits.

Best Light Cone

Black Swan’s best-in-slot is Reforged Remembrance. It gives +40% effect hit rate and introduces the Prophet mechanic: whenever you damage a DoT-afflicted enemy, you gain one Prophet stack per distinct DoT type on that target. Each stack increases ATK by 5% and lets your DoT ignore 7.2% defense. This means you want multiple DoT types on enemies to stack Prophet quickly—ideal for DoT teams. If your team lacks reliable DoT application, consider Kafka’s Patience is All You Need—it inflicts Erode (a shock DoT) on hit, ensuring you always have at least one DoT to fuel Arcana. For a four-star alternative, Eyes of the Prey boosts effect hit rate and DoT damage. The event Light Cone Before the Tutorial Mission Starts also works in a pinch.

Relics and Planar Ornaments

Run the four-piece Prisoner in Deep Confinement set. It grants +12% ATK and reduces enemy defense by 6% per DoT type on them, stacking up to three times (18% total).
