PUBG Lite, the free-to-play low-specification version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is set to expand its open beta on October 10 to 52 additional countries. Initially available only in Thailand since beginning open beta in January, the expansion will include Russia, the CIS, and several European nations. The client is specifically designed to run on laptops with integrated graphics cards by reducing visual fidelity and system requirements, while preserving the core gameplay mechanics of the original PUBG. Minimum system requirements include a dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and an Intel HD Graphics 4000 or equivalent, making it accessible to a wide range of low-end PCs.

What Makes PUBG Lite Different

Unlike PUBG Mobile, which is a separate product with a redesigned HUD and touch controls optimized for mobile devices, PUBG Lite aims to deliver an experience nearly identical to the standard PC version. It retains mouse and keyboard controls, the full inventory system, and the core battle royale gameplay. The primary differences lie in the system requirements and business model—PUBG Lite is free-to-play and optimized for low-end hardware. A separate development team is responsible for this version and plans to add more maps over time, as not all maps from the core game are currently available in the beta. The publisher’s stated goal is to bring the PUBG experience to regions where the hardware demands of the main game are difficult to meet.
