Surviving the Candy Factory: A Guide to Chapter 2 of Little Nightmares 3

After phasing through that eerie mirror at the end of Chapter 1, Low and I stepped straight into the nightmare known as the Candy Factory. The feather umbrellas we relied on before were gone, leaving only his bow and my wrench. Almost immediately, you get the sense that this place is even less forgiving than the Necropolis.

We walked forward until we reached a platform with a stubborn button that needed a good wrench smash. Already the air smelled sickly sweet, like burnt sugar and forgotten childhood. Why is it always the sweetest things that hide the most rot? Pushing onward, we came to a room where a small window let us spy a hulking figure moving behind the glass. This was our first glimpse of The Supervisor—part old woman, part spider, all dread.

A Tense First Encounter

We slipped through a hatch and found ourselves crouched beside a desk in a cavernous office. No sooner had we entered than The Supervisor scuttled in from a side door, her many legs clicking on the floor as she began rifling through papers on the back desk. Staying low was everything. We hugged the floor near the entrance, but I realized with a jolt that she would soon move to the cabinet to our right and then come right back to our spot. So we darted under the long back desk just as she turned. Timing, in this factory, is the thin line between breath and becoming part of the decoration.

After what felt like an eternity of holding my breath, she finally left through the right-hand door. We followed her into a hallway lined with portraits, where a movable cart waited. Pushing it against a counter let us climb up and continue, but not before Low had to shoot a button to kill the power on a crackling live wire. This place is a deathtrap of both monsters and faulty wiring.
