I Built a SEMA-Ready 1975 Ford Falcon XB Off-Road Monster in My Head

I still remember the exact moment the idea hit me. I was scrolling through old Mad Max footage, watching that iconic black Interceptor roar across the Australian wasteland, and I thought: What if we gave the 1975 Ford Falcon XB a second life—not as a dystopian cruiser, but as an all-American off-road monster? The Falcon XB has always been a cult hero, but I wanted to see it lifted, armored, and running on trophy-truck tires. That night, I fired up my rendering software and started sculpting what would become my wildest concept yet: a Baja-ready Falcon that belongs under the SEMA lights.

The original Falcon XB needs no introduction for gearheads. Built in Australia, it was the peak of 1970s muscle Down Under, with that long hood, fastback roofline, and aggressive stance that could stare down a Mustang. Buyers could choose from a thrifty six-cylinder all the way up to the thundering 351 Cleveland V8. And of course, it became immortalized as the Mad Max Interceptor, a car that screams rebellion. Those muscular lines were the perfect canvas for something radical.

My vision was to keep that silhouette instantly recognizable, but transform it into a high-speed desert runner that would look equally at home blasting through Nevada’s sand or parked at a SEMA booth in Las Vegas. I chose a striking yellow paint job with black rally stripes and mud splatters—because this car is meant to get dirty. The first thing I did was lift the suspension and stuff massive 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires under custom-fabricated fender flares. Wrapped around 20-inch matte black wheels, the setup gives the Falcon a muscular, purposeful stance that screams “I eat Raptors for breakfast.”
